APC Weight Room Undergoes Major Enhancement Project

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Moats Family Strength & Conditioning Facility, located inside James Madison's Plecker Athletic Performance Center, underwent a significant overhaul with new flooring, equipment and graphics installed ahead of the spring semester.
Sorinex, based in South Carolina, provided the new JMU-branded equipment, as well as the floor installation.
The facility enhancements feature 15 racks, 10 glute-ham raise machines, 11 cables, 30 benches and 85 pairs of dumbbells. The weight room additionally houses two new custom woodway treadmills.
The flooring was also updated to a rolled rubber floor system branded with JMU logos. Additionally, all walls were painted and new graphics were designed and installed by Gropen.
"The recent facility upgrade to the Moats Family Strength & Conditioning Facility further represents JMU's ongoing commitment to staying on the cutting edge with regards to student-athlete development," JMU Football Head Coach Curt Cignetti said.
The format and design of this project has fully maximized the space of the 6,799 square-foot facility to enhance the training experience of JMU's student-athletes.
